President Chong gave the following report to the Board of Trustees at their November 10, 2015 meeting:

• He congratulated the Petaluma Campus for a successful LumaFest, which had over 3,000 participants, including Trustees Call and Fishman. He said that he believes this is the beginning of a new tradition in Petaluma.
• He thanked the organizers of the Town Hall meeting. It was a collective and collaborative effort. He said he plans to provide a progress report on PDA Day.
• He thanked SGA and SGA President Josh Pinaula for having him at their leadership lunch. He said that he is proud of the collaborative work the Student Government is doing and the many successful events they have organized, including dances, Take Back the Night and more. He said that they show the leadership that SRJC is looking to see from its students.
• He attended the Dreamers Workshop that had over 350 attendees from around the area. He appreciated this inspirational event, which included currently enrolled dreamer students talking to high school students to inspire and encourage them to attend college.
• He also attended the Latino Health Careers Workshop.
• He went to Washington, DC for the College Board meeting and met with Martha Kanter, former undersecretary of education to discuss America's College Promise Program, which promotes free community college education. He will be working to advocate for that program on his own time.
• He visited Las Positas College as the lead of an Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative Partnership Resource Team in response to their recent declining enrollment. He said that SRJC may be facing the same problem, but to a much lesser extent than many other colleges. The team is trying to strategize to increase enrollment, by doing things like offering classes Fridays and Saturdays, when working students can go to college.
• He will be attending the Community College League of California's (CCLC) Annual Conference in November with several of the Trustees and will be presenting on how to pass a successful bond.
• Finally, he gave a report on the efforts being made to research potential redistricting. After the last Study Session, meeting with students, staff, faculty, administrators attorneys and preparing to meet with demographers, he announced the planned follow-up Study Session for the Board on Jan. 12. He encouraged everyone to attend and look at the District's options.
