    SRJC offers a competitive compensation package comparable to similar community college districts in California. Compensation, length of contract, and other terms and conditions of employment will be based on the qualifications of the successful candidate and negotiated with the Board of Trustees.

  • Application Procedure

    Priority Filing Deadline: Friday, February 3, 2023

    In order to be given consideration for this position, applicants must submit the following documents by the filing deadline:

    • A completed Santa Rosa Junior College/ Employment Application and responses to Agency-wide Questions. Please note resumes are not a substitute for completing the "Work Experience" section of the employment application. Applications will be considered incomplete if no work experience is listed, or if other required application fields are missing or incomplete.
    • A cover letter explaining your interest in being the next Superintendent/President of Santa Rosa Junior College. In five pages or less, address your background as it relates to the Minimum and Desirable Qualifications, Ideal Characteristics and Priority Issues of Importance as detailed in this job announcement.
    • Current resume, which includes contact information for references as follows: 2 colleagues, 2 faculty, 2 classified staff, and a combination of 2 trustees/community members. The contact information should include home, cell, and work phone numbers and e-mail addresses. References will not be contacted until the candidate is selected for an interview and written permission from the candidate is granted.
    • Copies of transcripts of all college-level coursework, including confirmation of degrees. If selected for the position, official transcripts must be submitted prior to employment. Unofficial copies (both sides) will be accepted if the unofficial document includes a seal, watermark, or other proof that the document was provided by an educational institution.


    Prior to beginning employment, new employees must: (1) provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States; (2) be fingerprinted and have background clearance (at employee’s expense); and (3) take a TB test (4) Within 6 months of employment, must complete required District trainings such as Title IX, Mandated Reporter.

    The Jeanne Clery Annual Security Report, which includes personal safety and crime prevention information related to District policies and District crime statistics, is available at or paper copies are available upon request from the District Police Department.

  • Timeline & Selection Process
    • Human Resources will complete the initial screening of applications in accordance with the required qualifications and the completeness of the application packet. Qualified candidates will be forwarded to the Presidential Search Advisory Committee.
    • The preliminary screening by the Committee is scheduled to be completed by end of February 2023.
    • Interviews are scheduled to be held March 6 – 13, 2023.
    • The Presidential Search Advisory Committee composition is as follows:
      • 2 Trustees, selected by the Board of Trustees;
      • 3 Administrators, selected by the Board of Trustees;                          
      • 4 Faculty members, two nominated by the Academic Senate and two nominated by the All Faculty Association (AFA);
      • 3 Classified staff members, one nominated by the Classified Senate; one nominated by SEIU; and one jointly nominated;
      • 2 Members of the Student Government Assembly (SGA), nominated by the SGA President;
      • 1 Equal Employment Opportunity representative/committee monitor, selected by the Board of Trustees;
    • Human Resources will notify all candidates of the results of the screening process.  The Committee will identify the first group of invitees. Once candidates have confirmed their interview appointments with Human Resources, permission will be requested for reference checks to be done by representative from PPL, Inc. Reference checking will be done only after candidates give written permission.
    • Finalists for the position will participate in in-person interviews with the Board of Trustees and forums with employees, students, and community members March 27 – 31, 2023.
    • Interviewees will be reimbursed for the reasonable expenses associated with participating in the interview process.
